Welcome to Lucid Climbing!
Lucid Climbing is a space to magnify the pursuit of excellence in climbing, in the many forms it may take. With a focus on training and continuous improvement, you can expect to come here to find stoke for your journey and perspectives that help you hone your passion.
I’m Dana, and I created this space as a way to share everything I love about climbing with other stoked climbers.
I was introduced to climbing in my last year of graduate school as an architecture student. Though it started as just a way to move and take a break from the consuming nature of architecture school, I quickly realized that climbing was going to be an important part of my life. Once I got started, there was pretty much no going back (maybe you know the feeling?).
My roots are as a sport climber in the Red River Gorge, where I first fell in love with training and projecting. After moving to California, I committed to learning trad climbing as a way to explore new and inspiring places. I took a job in Yosemite to immerse myself in learning granite style, and later spent time in Indian Creek and Joshua Tree. These days, I’m based in Sacramento, taking advantage of local climbing in all its forms.
Climbing has always allowed me to break out of the manufactured existence that defines our modern society. The more I pursue climbing, the more I can connect authentically with myself, and with others who are chasing the same values.
